Kenneth Rayner Jones diary, 1863-1864 [manuscript].

Diary kept by Jones, a member of the 27th North Carolina Regiment, Cooke's Brigade, recording the frequent movements of his company; the weather; camp revivals; a snow fight fought by Cooke's and Kirkland's brigades, March 1864; and the Battle of the Wilderness, May 1864.

Kenneth Rayner Jones was born in Jones County, N.C., in February 1842. He attended the University of North Carolina from 1859 to 1861, and joined the Confederate Army while a student.
